P-A-S-S-I-O-N/Got me in a jam again…
No no no…we’re not gonna sing that cheesy song by Rhythm Syndicate. But I do want to bring up that word…
Passion.
First thought is sex, isn’t it? However, we should get our minds out of the gutter for a few minutes and think about passion in life, taking risks, and try to answer this question:
What do you do when you feel like a spectator in your own life?
Watch the video below, and then please feel free to answer the questions posed in it in a comment.
How will you be brave today?

I luv ya girl! I ask myself every day “how did I get here from there?”. I don’t always know, myself, but I keep on keepin on, and that’s what you have to do too!

I’m writing as my Second Life character, so that’s probably not very brave, but that’s how you know me at this point.
I think you’re right—without passion, you’re not really living. I’ve had plenty of periods like that. I inherited a tendency toward risk-aversion, which can be cripping. But I did move from Boston to Vancouver 13 years ago. I’m starting to work on a certificate in counselling that will be a huge and risky change for me. And I’m in the midst of another change that I can’t talk about yet.
BTW, in my case, there’s at least one opinion that matters to me other than my own—that of my spouse. And if the only opinion that matters to you is yours, why I am telling you my opinion?
Be strong! Find something you really care about. We all need that.

If you don’t want to be a spectator, take part in the game and aim to win, even if you lose in the end. Passion isn’t so much the result of the win, as it is the result of being in the heart of the action. Passion is temporary and heated. It ebbs and flows like the excitement of the game. But ultimately, finding your groove, talents and your place in the game of life that helps you find enjoyment in that, game win or lose. Sometimes we have to do things like working a soul-sucking job, that are much like spring training. No fun, but it ultimately provides you the tools and fortitude necessary to poise yourself as a potential champion. You cannot make your dreams come true, if you do take the steps necessary to make them real.
